...And God Created Phoney!!
In 1996 I edited a heavy metal fanzine called 'Fear is the Mindkiller', which covered anything from Slayer to NY Hardcore.
Late 1997 I switched my attention to drug-fuelled comics in a publication called 'Phoney'. Although only 2 issues ever saw the light of day it left a scar on my brain that will last forever.
In October 2000 I was asked to start a new zine to cover punk nights at a local pub venue. I called it 'Sub Siren' and it was well recieved by the pierced, leather clad crowd, but sadly the nights ended due to an arguement with the promoters and landlord.
I decided to carry on and Issue 2 featured a less heavy but still alternative, underground music connection.
2002 saw SubSiren recruit writer Rob Simpson to work more on the Rock scene thus giving the zine more balance and scope.
